SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The HR Generalist is the day-to-day HR presence for employees at the Tillsonburg plant, with a focus on engagement, recognition, retention, and HR administration. This role runs the engagement calendar and recognition programs, keeps attendance and files accurate. This position supports employees and leaders on the floor.
The HR Generalist overlaps with the afternoon shift 2–3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
Engagement, Recognition & Culture
- Lead the Engagement Events planned throughout the year.
- Design and administer employee recognition programs, including RECIPE recognition.
- Coordinate service awards and performance celebrations.
- Develop internal communication initiatives for plant employees and coordinate town halls and shift meetings.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and surveys.
- Lead the Walk a Shift in your Shoes Program.
Retention
- Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews.
- Partner with the training team to improve employee development and succession pathways.
HR Administration & Compliance
- Administer attendance, and support wellness and absenteeism initiatives.
- Involved in preparation for payroll processing.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and confidential employee files.
- Support compliance with company policies and employment standards.
- Prepare HR reports and documentation as requested.
- Complete investigations as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Overlap with the afternoon shift 2–3 days per week.

CERTIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- CHRP/CHRL designation (or working toward) is considered an asset.
- 1–3 years of experience in an HR generalist, administrative, or coordinator role preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with HRIS systems is an asset.

- General office environment with frequent interaction with employees and leadership.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
- Regular presence in production areas requiring adherence to food safety and PPE requirements.
- Fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring flexibility and responsiveness.
- Afternoon shift overlap 2–3 days per week.
