The position serves as a technical authority for manufacturing test strategy and will partner closely with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Contract Manufacturers to improve product quality, operational efficiency, and manufacturing scalability.
Main Key Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Architecture
- Define and deploy Thermo Fisher's manufacturing test strategy across internal sites and Contract Manufacturing partners.
- Develop standardized test architectures supporting:
- PCBA manufacturing
- Electromechanical assemblies
- Instrument-level testing
- Final system testing
- Service and repair operations
- Establish global standards for test coverage, fault detection, and test effectiveness.
- Drive alignment of test methodologies across business divisions and manufacturing locations.
- Test Development & Industrialization
- Lead development and deployment of manufacturing test solutions including:
- Test vision system
- ICT (In-Circuit Test)
- Flying Probe
- Functional Test
- Boundary Scan
- Burn-In
- System-Level Test
- End-of-Line Test
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design Transfer activities.
- Ensure Design for Testability (DFT) principles are integrated into product development.
- Define test requirements and acceptance criteria during product industrialization.
- Lead development and deployment of manufacturing test solutions including:

- Contract Manufacturing & Supply Chain Excellence
- Assess Contract Manufacturer test capabilities and maturity.
- Establish standardized test deployment requirements across external manufacturing partners.
- Support manufacturing transfers and dual-sourcing initiatives by evaluating test readiness and transfer feasibility.
- Lead test capability audits and operational assessments.
- Test Automation & Digitalization
- Develop strategies for increased automation of manufacturing testing.
- Support implementation of:
- Automated test equipment (ATE) and test vision systems
- Data acquisition systems
- Test result traceability
- Manufacturing analytics
- Support Industry 4.0 initiatives through integration of test data and manufacturing intelligence platforms.
- Support Improvement of first pass yield through data-driven test optimization.
- Quality & Reliability Improvement
- Support Optimization of test coverage and defect detection effectiveness.
- Support reduction of escapes, false failures, and unnecessary test costs.
- Support root cause investigations involving manufacturing test failures.
- Partner with Quality and Product Engineering teams to improve product reliability.
- Capacity & Productivity Optimization
- Evaluate manufacturing test bottlenecks and throughput constraints.
- Develop capacity models for test operations.
- Support test footprint optimization and manufacturing scalability initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in:
- Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline
- 10+ years of manufacturing, Test engineering, Automated test systems development and integration.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Test coverage analysis
- Test systems Development
- Electronics Test manufacturing (PCBA)
- Mechanical and electromechanical Test operations
- Cost reduction and productivity improvement initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or related fields.
- Experience within regulated industries:
- Life Sciences and/or Medical Devices Diagnostics
- Complex Test HLA/TLA assembly (High Mix/Low volume)
- Experience with:
- Test Sw coverage analysis ex. TESTWAY and/or equivalent.
- TEST vision systems
- ICT, FCT HLA and TLA, System level test, DFT, Test automation and test Data analytics.
- Power BI
- SAP
- Experience leading global Test manufacturing transformation programs.
