The shipping and receiving specialist position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.
Duties:
- Closes manufacturing orders in system ensuring materials are issued.
- Closes sales orders in system.
- Package all shipments according to customers, industry and company guidelines.
- Prepare all necessary documentation’s (i.e., air bills, shipping labels, etc.).
- Familiar with FedEx and UPS shipping forms and requirements.
- Prepare daily shipping log and distribute as required.
- Arrange for freight carrier pick-ups, as necessary.
- Maintains all controlled documents as necessary.
- Ensure proper documentation accompanies incoming receipts
- Obtain OSHA forklift driver certification.
- Inducts customer material and generates shop work orders.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the department manager.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and moving throughout the day.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- This position will support production as needed and determined by operations.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Past Shipping/Receiving experience in relatable industry.
