Project Lead - EU Pay Transparency (AVP)
As Project Lead - EU Pay Transparency, you will play a critical role in leading the implementation of the EU Pay Transparency Directive across MUFG's European entities. Working within the EMEA Performance & Reward team, you will manage a complex, cross-functional programme that spans HR, Legal, Data Analytics, HRIS, Job Architecture, Compliance and business stakeholders.
You will be responsible for driving project governance, stakeholder engagement, implementation planning and delivery, ensuring that the organisation is compliant with regulatory requirements while embedding best practice in pay transparency across the region.
This is a unique opportunity to combine reward expertise, project leadership and regulatory implementation experience within a highly regulated international financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation and delivery of the EU Pay Transparency programme across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Manage project workstreams, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, milestones and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective governance frameworks, including working groups, steering committees and reporting forums.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, manage dependencies and drive successful project outcomes.
- Develop and deliver project communications and updates for a broad range of stakeholders.
- Monitor, manage and escalate project risks, issues and dependencies through effective governance processes.
- Maintain key project documentation, including RAID logs, action trackers and implementation plans.
- Prepare and deliver status reporting to senior stakeholders and steering committees.
- Coordinate implementation activities, including project go-live planning and execution.
- Manage third-party vendor relationships where required.
- Provide analytical support across all aspects of EU Pay Transparency implementation, including gender pay gap analysis and related reporting.
- Stay current on developments in EU labour legislation and emerging best practices in pay transparency.
Skills & Experience
Required Experience
- Proven experience leading complex HR, Reward or regulatory projects within a large global matrix organisation.
- Experience working in Compensation & Benefits, Reward, or a closely related HR discipline.
- Experience analysing people and reward data to support business decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across multiple functions and levels of seniority.
- Experience working with HR systems, ideally Workday.
Preferred Experience
- Experience implementing UK or EU pay-related regulations, ideally within financial services.
- Demonstrated success delivering HR or regulatory change programmes on time and within budget.
- Experience working within a financial institution or other highly regulated environment.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of reward principles, processes and practices.
- Good knowledge of the EU Pay Transparency Directive and related labour legislation.
- Strong project management capabilities, including planning, governance, risk management and delivery oversight.
- Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills with the ability to translate insights into clear recommendations.
- Strong understanding of data quality, governance and the impact of HR processes on workforce data.
Systems & Tools
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with HR technology platforms and people data systems.
- Working knowledge of Workday is highly desirable.

Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline.
Preferred
- Professional HR, Reward, Project Management or Business certification, or equivalent industry experience.
