· Configure, parameterize, and calibrate devices (flow, pressure, level, temperature, mass flow controllers) to customer specifications on-site, including basic field adjustments and verification against reference standards.
· Document all commissioning activities and provide clear handover, test records, and customer sign-off.
Field calibration, diagnostics & repair
· Perform routine and corrective on-site calibration of valves, sensors, transmitters, and instrumentation used in fluid control and process automation.
· Diagnose and resolve technical issues in control valves, positioners, manifolds, and sensor systems, including pneumatic and electrical troubleshooting.
· Execute component-level repair and replacement (actuators, coils, electronics, seals) following Bürkert and customer quality procedures.
· Identify root cause of failures and propose corrective and preventive actions, including recommendations on maintenance intervals, spares, and design improvements.

· Typical travel expectation: up to 60%, with the remainder spent in the Charlotte office on internal service work, repair activity, and service program development.
REQUIREMENTS:
· 5+ years of experience in field service, instrumentation service, or a hands-on maintenance/engineering role in process industries (pharma, biotech, chemical, food & beverage, or similar).
· Proven experience with on-site installation, commissioning, and repair of industrial valves, instrumentation, or automation equipment.
· Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills on electro-pneumatic systems, sensors, and control loops; able to work independently under pressure in a production environment.
· Experience performing and documenting field calibrations (e.g., pressure, flow, temperature, level) using reference standards or portable calibrators.
· Excellent customer-facing communication skills, both written and verbal, with presenting findings to engineering, maintenance, and QA/Validation teams.
· Strong documentation skills, including clear technical field reports and calibration records.
· Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly in North Carolina and across the United States.
