Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. About the team:
Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) Technology enables scalable fulfillment solutions for third-party sellers, supporting transportation, inventory, warehouse operations, billing, and delivery. The team operates at the intersection of Marketplace and Walmart’s supply chain, collaborating with Product, Business, Operations, Supply Chain, and Transportation partners. Combining the agility of a growth business with the scale of a global retailer, the team drives innovation and expands fulfillment capabilities into new models and international markets. What you'll do:

• Be a deeply hands-on technical leader, write production-quality code, build automated tests, and drive implementations through production deployment
• Own the full software development lifecycle: coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to deliver scalable, resilient, and agile systems
• Lead system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards
• Build AI-driven applications with intelligent automation features across multiple programming languages
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable requirements and measurable outcomes
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and data-driven decision-making

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to deliver maintainable and modular solutions.
• Experience driving full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
• Ability to integrate AI/ML components and develop intelligent automation using languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C++ and microservices.
• Demonstrated technical leadership with mentorship skills and sound technical judgment for architectural decisions.
• Data-driven decision-making capabilities to define metrics and optimize engineering processes.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills across technical and business stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
