Job Description:
The Sustainability Analyst develops and drives UPS's sustainability and decarbonization strategy by leading initiatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions across global operations. Partners with internal stakeholders and customers to design, implement, and scale innovative sustainability solutions across all business units and transportation modes. Utilizes data-driven insights to measure performance, supports regulatory and voluntary disclosures, and provides sound recommendations that advance environmental goals while supporting business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement sustainability and decarbonization strategies to support UPS's global environmental commitments.
Leads cross-functional efforts to identify, evaluate, and execute greenhouse gas reduction initiatives across transportation, facilities, and operational networks.
Collaborate with customers to develop and scale sustainability solutions that support shared decarbonization objectives.
Analyzes qualitative and quantitative data to measure initiative effectiveness, track progress toward emission reduction goals, and identify improvement opportunities.
Supports voluntary and regulatory sustainability reporting requirements by ensuring accurate collection, analysis, and communication of environmental data.
Develop business cases and recommendations that balance environmental impact with operational and financial considerations.
Influences stakeholders across multiple functions to gain alignment and drive execution of sustainability initiatives.

Possesses advanced expertise in sustainability, environmental strategy, and decarbonization, applying both theoretical and practical knowledge to solve complex challenges.
Utilizes strong analytical skills to evaluate diverse data sources, identify trends, and recommend actionable solutions.
Demonstrates broad business acumen and an understanding of how cross-functional priorities impact sustainability outcomes.

Analyzes complex issues using both quantitative and qualitative information.
Develops innovative approaches and solutions by applying new perspectives to existing challenges.
Exercises independent judgment in evaluating alternatives and making recommendations; balances strategic, operational, and financial considerations when determining solutions.

Operates with a high level of independence, serving as a sustainability subject matter expert who guides colleagues, supports cross-functional teams, and mentors less experienced employees.
Drives team performance, quality, and sustainability goals while influencing technical and strategic decisions across the organization.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required; master’s degree in Sustainability or a related field preferred.
Prior experience in sustainability and/or environmental programs, initiatives, or compliance required
