The Opportunity

Just Eat Takeaway is looking for a Technology Manager to lead and grow the Partner Assistance team in the Acquisition, Onboarding and Service domain.

The Partner Assistance team is dedicated to supporting our partners to help them succeed and grow, handling significant volumes of partner contacts globally. We are building and deploying AI-driven platforms designed to automate high-volume contact reasons, improve self-service capabilities, and reduce manual handling times.

As a Technology Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end technical delivery of three major Partner-facing AI initiatives:

• Partner AI Voice Agent (AIVA): Leading the automation of high-volume telephony contacts including opening hours management, order cancellations, device support, order status, and proactive outbound calling.
• Partner Assistant (chatbot): Managing the strategic migration of the Partner Chatbot from Ultimate to an internal solution across key markets.

You will coordinate complex integrations across multiple internal and third party systems, ensuring feature parity and enhanced capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

At JET - Technology Managers have primary accountability for the technical direction, engineering quality and execution. They work with their team to design and implement solutions and product features that make our customer and partner (restaurants, groceries) experiences even better. Our technology managers ensure their team is happy, focused, driven and delivering quality in the most effective way possible.

You’ll be responsible for:

• End-to-End Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end technical delivery of Partner AI Voice Agent, Partner Assistant (Chatbot).
• Strategic Migration: Manage the strategic migration of the Chatbot from Ultimate to an internal solution across key global markets.
• System Integration: Coordinate complex integrations across various internal and external systems.
• Liaison & Coordination: Act as the primary technical liaison between stakeholder teams and the engineering/QA squads.
• Product Definition: Contribute to the definition of significant product features, getting involved in workshops with other engineering teams and Product Managers.
• Technical Leadership: Collaborate with your Senior Technology Manager and peers to define and communicate a technical roadmap for the domain.
• Career Development: Help define goals and objectives for engineers in the team to lead and guide them throughout their careers and aspirations.
• Prioritisation: Work closely with stakeholders and your Senior Technology Manager to ensure the domain sets their priorities appropriately, in line with commercial needs and the Engineering Strategy.
• Ownership: Own streams of work that span the domain, from requirements gathering to design and support functionality in production.
• Continuous Improvement: Improve the effectiveness of the domain by proposing and implementing new processes, designs, and engineering practices.
• Tracking Progress: Track the progress being made towards the wider goals of the domain, and transparently communicate this with the teams and Senior Technology Manager.
• Operating: Take responsibility for deploying and supporting your changes all the way through to prove that they work well in production.
• Communicate: Transparently communicate your progress and discuss ideas with your teams, other senior Individual Contributors, and your Senior Technology Manager.

Your Profile & Experience

You will have experience matching some of the following:

• Experience leading and developing a team of engineers using AI/Chatbot platforms and Event Driven Architecture as its core technology.
• Proven track record in managing API integrations (Zendesk, CRM systems).
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (or similar e.g. Azure, Google Cloud)
• Delivering high-quality software projects, driving forward best practices.
• Able to work independently and solve complex problems.
• Experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban).
• Desire to coach engineers and to drive a high-performance culture.
• Experience with Telephony / AI Voice solutions is a plus - Twilio, ElevenLabs.
• Hands-on experience with using and optimising AI harness tools.
