Production Engineer

Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY:

1. To ensure all Safety policies are confirmed by regular auditing and housekeeping is maintained to the management’s standards.

2. Supervise and lead a team Supervisors / Operators in achieving the management objectives and Quality through

   optimum utilisation of available resources and at minimum cost.

3. Responsible to assign duties Supervisor and place them in relevant work stations according to their 

   skills and experiences. Coach and develop operators to enhance their skills and knowledge.

4. Handle grievance of production operators, recommend appropriate actions to maintain discipline among operators 

   and recommend promotions of operators to management.

5. Responsible for troubleshooting problems and making good judgement / decisions during or after office hours.

6. Proper empowerment and work delegation. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure that the electrical cost  is at optimum usage by innovating processes and plant machineries.

2. Reduction of overall production line unscheduled downtime.

3. SGA (Small Group Activities) contribution for implementation of Yield / Process and Cost Improvements.

4. To direct and manage Human Resources by coaching / development and spot potential candidates for the succession plan.

5. To ensure the records of the production section are upkeep and well maintained for the ISO9000 purpose.

6. Drive Safety and 5S Housekeeping activities to ensure a Safe Workplace 

7. To communicate safety alerts, lesson learned and incident sharing on time to department

8. To  ensure employees/contractors well trained on their task

9. To accountable on employees/contractors safety

10. To intervene any unsafe behaviour at site

11. Encourage employees/contractors to conduct peer to peer safety observation.

Safety:

1) Monitor and ensure all set KPI targets are met and followed truly by N-1.

2) Ensure all near misses and incidents are reported promptly.

3) Execute the consequences and reward policy in the right manner and identify the gaps.

4) Follow up with actions on safety audit findings and action promptly.

5) Overall accountability in plant wide safety and being followed according to set protocols.

6) To communicate safety alerts, lesson learned and incident sharing on time to department

7) To  ensure employees/contractors well trained on their task

8) To accountable on employees/contractors safety

9) To intervene any unsafe behaviour at site

10) Encourage employees/contractors to conduct peer to peer safety observation.

Production/Planning/Quality/Delivery:

1) Ensure and monitor the weekly milling plan is being followed and aligned with packing output. 

2) Ensure the contingency plan is available in advance to not meet the packing plan.Anticipate the difficulties before escalating to the department head for solutions. 

3) Monitor and verify daily production reports before publishing them. Areas covered will be OEE and energy.

4) Ensure all ritual management such as shift handover, Daily Operation meeting and other weekly meetings are conducted in a timely manner. 

5) Make sure all process parameters are being followed and monitored by executives or supervisors. 

6) Ensure all in process quality parameters deviations are addressed promptly and action being taken.

7) Ensure all Job Cards raised are followed up by executives or supervisors and closed promptly with actions in a timely manner.

8) Support and guide supervisors on troubleshooting and escalation plans to the process team.

9) To monitor monthly mass balance targets are met and submitted in a timely manner.

10) Monitor and measure consumable materials variances prior to monthly mass balance.

11) Monitor labour,raw material variances and address them in a timely manner for discrepancies. 

12) Ensure all management information is cascaded downstream and get feedback for ideas and improvements.

13) Monitor and follow up truly on multi tasking training.

14) Follow up daily for delivery and ensure met on time delivery is met.

15) Accountable for customer complaints and process deviation RCA. Actions to be addressed in a timely manner.

16) Monitor set KPI for N-1 and N-2 in quarterly for leading and leggings.

17) Overall sponsor for dust management and resolving sources of contamination.

18) Overall ownership in maintaining plant wide 5S together with the peer departments.

19) To work with the process team on all improvements activites.

20) Follow up, execute all I cube related requirements accordingly and support 

21) Able to to work and support  process team on all improvements activities

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum degree in any engineering discipline and  with > 5 years experience.

Areas of expertise: 

Troubleshooting Skills

Computer skills 

FMEA, SPC and RCA

Competent in report writing and critical analysis.
