Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with at least three days per week in the office

The Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer provides enterprise-level leadership for Utah First's marketing, brand, communications, and member growth strategies. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the CMO will translate organizational priorities into integrated marketing strategies that strengthen Utah First's market position, increase member acquisition and engagement, and deliver measurable business results.
The CMO will lead brand strategy, digital and traditional marketing, public relations, corporate communications, content strategy, market research, marketing automation, community engagement, and member acquisition. This leader will also develop a high-performing marketing team, oversee the department's budget and strategic partnerships, and establish clear measures of performance and return on investment.
The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with disciplined execution, understands the evolving financial services landscape, and is passionate about creating exceptional experiences that differentiate Utah First in the marketplace.
What You'll Do
Enterprise Strategy and Leadership
- Develop and execute an integrated marketing strategy aligned with Utah First's mission, strategic plan, growth objectives, and financial goals.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership on brand positioning, market opportunities, member growth, and reputation.
- Partner across the organization to support strategic initiatives, product development, business development, market expansion, and organizational growth.
- Translate enterprise priorities into clear marketing strategies, operating plans, budgets, and performance expectations.
- Monitor market conditions, member behavior, competitive activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities and emerging risks.
Brand and Member Experience
- Lead the development, evolution, and stewardship of the Utah First brand across all channels and member touchpoints.
- Ensure marketing and communication initiatives consistently reflect Utah First's mission, values, culture, and brand promise.
- Use member research, segmentation, and journey insights to improve engagement, loyalty, retention, and advocacy.
- Partner with operational leaders to help create a consistent and differentiated member experience.
- Direct public relations, corporate communications, crisis communications, and reputation management.
Growth and Business Performance
- Develop integrated campaigns that increase membership, deepen member relationships, support product adoption, and improve retention.
- Partner with business leaders to establish growth priorities and develop effective go-to-market strategies.
- Use data, research, attribution, and member insights to guide decisions and optimize marketing investments.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators for member acquisition, engagement, campaign effectiveness, brand strength, and return on investment.
- Regularly communicate marketing performance, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership.
Digital Marketing and Innovation
- Lead digital strategy across Utah First's website, search, social media, email, content, paid media, and emerging channels.
- Advance the organization's use of marketing automation, personalization, analytics, and member data.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, consumer behaviors, and marketing practices that could strengthen Utah First's competitive position.
- Oversee marketing technology platforms, agency relationships, and other strategic vendor partnerships.
Team and Financial Leadership
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing marketing team.
- Establish clear priorities, accountability, and performance expectations throughout the department.
- Build a collaborative culture that encourages creativity, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring resources are aligned with strategic priorities and measurable results.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Strengthen Utah First's visibility and relevance within the communities it serves.
- Develop partnerships and community initiatives that support the Utah First brand and organizational mission.
- Represent Utah First at community, business, and industry events.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible marketing experience, including five or more years leading marketing strategy at the senior executive or senior leadership level.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that produce measurable business results.
- Significant experience leading brand strategy, digital marketing, communications, and growth initiatives.
- Proven ability to connect marketing strategy and investment to organizational growth and financial performance.
- Strong strategic planning, analytical, financial, and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated success building, developing, and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience managing significant budgets, agencies, vendors, and strategic partnerships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Leadership experience within a credit union, bank, financial services organization, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience supporting significant organizational growth, geographic expansion, or entry into new markets.
- Experience with member segmentation, customer journey mapping, marketing automation, and data-driven personalization.
- Familiarity with the regulatory and reputational considerations affecting financial services marketing and communications.

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation will be based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for incentive compensation.
