Description
The Company
Dexcom Corporation (NASDAQ DXCM) is a pioneer and global leader in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Dexcom began as a small company with a big dream: To forever change how diabetes is managed. To unlock information and insights that drive better health outcomes. Here we are 25 years later, having pioneered an industry. And we're just getting started. We are broadening our vision beyond diabetes to empower people to take control of health. That means personalized, actionable insights aimed at solving important health challenges. To continue what we've started: Improving human health.
We are driven by thousands of ambitious, passionate people worldwide who are willing to fight like warriors to earn the trust of our customers by listening, serving with integrity, thinking big, and being dependable. We've already changed millions of lives and we're ready to change millions more. Our future ambition is to become a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to develop solutions for serious health conditions. We'll get there by constantly reinventing unique biosensing-technology experiences. Though we've come a long way from our small company days, our dreams are bigger than ever. The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us.
Meet the team:
At Dexcom, our patients are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to empower people to take control of their health — and in Spain, CGM is becoming a structural part of how diabetes care is delivered. Our Marketing team is where that story gets told.
This is a newly created role, which means you won’t inherit a playbook, you’ll write one. You’ll be the voice of Dexcom Spain with media, health authorities, scientific societies and patient organisations, and you’ll own the strategic projects that give that voice something real to say. If you like working where reputation, access and innovation meet — and you’d rather build than maintain — this is your seat.
Where you come in:
- You own the annual communications plan for Dexcom Spain, from corporate narrative to launch milestones and regional success stories.
- You manage media relations and our external PR agency, including press materials, spokesperson preparation and editorial content.
- You build and govern long-term partnerships with patient organisations at national and regional level, ensuring full compliance and transparency.
- You project-manage strategic regional and national initiatives end-to-end, with clear milestones, deliverables and reporting to leadership.
- You partner with Market Access to ensure projects are designed and communicated in a way that strengthens Dexcom’s position with health authorities across CCAA.
- You give visibility to our innovation projects, turning pilots and new care models into replicable case studies for institutional, scientific and patient audiences.
- You lead internal communications so the organisation knows what we are achieving and why it matters.
- You define and track communication and advocacy KPIs, and report impact to the leadership team.
What makes you successful:
- You have built and run communications or patient advocacy programmes in healthcare, medtech or pharma in Spain.
- You are fluent in Spanish and English, and equally effective briefing a journalist, a regional health authority and a patient community.
- You know the Spanish healthcare system — its regional structure, its decision-makers and the role advocacy plays in access.
- You bring strong project management discipline and can run several strategic workstreams in parallel without losing the narrative thread.
- Your judgement on tone, reputation and risk is sound, and you know when to escalate.
- You are comfortable working cross-functionally with Market Access, Medical and Commercial, and you influence without direct authority.
- You thrive with a blank page: you are pragmatic, resilient and biased towards action.
- Nice to have: you have worked with compliance and transparency frameworks governing collaboration with patient organisations, and you are comfortable with digital content and social platforms for health audiences.
Travel Required:
- 20-25%
Experience and Education:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 – 8 years of related experience
Workplace Mode:
Flex Workplace: Your manager will work with you to determine any additional office attendance requirements based on business needs. At a minimum, you are required to work from your assigned Dexcom site once a month. You must maintain the ability to report to the office as required, regardless of your permanent residence location.
