Job Description:
Role Summary
Senior delivery leader accountable for executing complex, cross-functional programmes that drive measurable business outcomes. The role goes beyond project delivery to ensure realisation of business benefits, client impact and adoption across business channels. Operates with strong commercial judgement, navigating ambiguity, aligning stakeholders and translating strategy into disciplined execution within Sun Life governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex programmes across regulatory, business, transformation and technology initiatives, aligning to strategic priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Translate strategy into executable plans and defined success metrics.
- Develop and manage integrated plans, proactively address risks, dependencies and changing priorities with flexibility.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and workstreams in a matrix environment, resolving competing priorities and driving alignment.
- Drive decisions using structured communication, collaboration and sound business judgement, while applying pragmatic trade-offs where needed.
- Ensure delivery adheres to Sun Life governance, financial controls and risk requirements, with disciplined tracking and reporting.
- Support business case development and drive disciplined benefits tracking and realisation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices and enterprise delivery capability.
Experience & Qualifications
- 10–15+ years of project or programme management experience, with a strong track record delivering complex initiatives in financial services or regulated environments.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, adapting to evolving priorities and ad hoc demands.
- Strong commercial acumen, with proven ability to make sound trade-offs and drive outcome-focused decisions.
- Experienced with ownership of delivery outcomes, benefits realisation and adoption.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP are desirable.
- The following experience would be advantageous:
- Exposure to distribution, sales or channel-led environments
- Delivery of client-focused initiatives to improve customer engagement and experience
- Experience in regulatory or compliance-driven programmes, including engagement with regulators
- Involvement in business model implementation or strategy enablement initiatives
- Exposure to insurance product development lifecycles
- Experience in operations transformation or large-scale process improvement
