ESTIMATOR (Restoration/Mitigation)
Location: Springfield, OR
Position Overview
The Estimator position is the second level in Our Client's Estimating career track and is achieved after completion of required new-hire training. This position is responsible for creating and managing estimates and jobs across residential, commercial, and industrial lines of business.
The Estimator will meet with clients, develop quality and competitive estimates using Xactimate software, manage projects through completion, review budgets, and communicate progress with clients and management. Estimators are also responsible for reviewing invoices and labor in a timely manner to ensure all applicable costs are accurately reflected in monthly job costs.
Upon completion of required training, qualified candidates will achieve the appropriate Estimator title and position.
Responsibilities

Establish and maintain local-area clientele positioned to refer losses. Clientele is primarily insurance adjusters but may also include community business owners, schools, and municipalities.

Create accurate floor plans in Xactimate Sketch.

Maintain working knowledge of applicable building codes.

Create and adhere to acceptable budgets and address overages as they arise.

Follow Our Client's required naming conventions for estimates, revised estimates, proposals, change orders, and related documentation.

Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable local building codes.

Maintain construction schedules and work with trades and management to ensure projects are completed on time. Identify and present solutions when additional resources are needed.

Demonstrate proficiency with source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, ventilation, contents, and deodorization techniques.

Demonstrate proficiency with investigative demolition, controlled demolition, decontamination, structure cleaning, and deodorization services.

Participate in continued training, including Basic Xactimate training, as preparation for passing the applicable Estimator Level 1, 2, or 3 User Certification test, dependent upon the Estimator role.

Independently manage assigned workload.

Maintain vehicle safety and maintenance inspections and keep vehicles in a clean, serviceable condition.

Complete all accident, injury, and incident reporting forms accurately and in a timely manner.

Demonstrate strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Assist in the development and continuous improvement of processes to support Our Client's goal of achieving world-class industry standards.

Comply with all company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
Requirements

Develop and maintain a client book of business dependent upon Estimator, Senior Estimator, General Estimator, and Executive General Estimator job requirements.

Serve as the primary contact with owners, adjusters, and consultants.

Manage scope development, negotiations, and agreements with customers.

Follow Our Client's standards for formatting estimates.

Coordinate after-hours emergency services as directed, including board-ups, water damage, fire and smoke damage, and vandalism.

Consistently identify potential site hazards, including asbestos, lead paint, mold, and other environmental concerns.

Conduct oneself professionally and courteously at all times. Must proactively communicate information and respond promptly to requests for information.

Apply industry TPA Program standards and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.

Work effectively under time constraints to meet specific timelines and deadlines.

Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding clients' property and information.

Attend company-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required.
Qualifications

English literacy and fluency.

Understanding of MSDS Data Sheets and their applicability to job sites.

Ability to follow Our Client's required format standards for Xactimate estimates, proposals, and related documentation.

Extensive customer service experience.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience with Xactimate.

Professional demeanor and appearance with excellent telephone and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively with others and maintain professional interactions with co-workers and vendors.
Physical Demands

Frequent lifting of more than 50 lbs. unassisted.

Sitting for extended periods of time.

Manual dexterity required for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks.
