About Us
Emergency Restoration Experts (ERX) has been in business since 2013, serving customers with our mission “Every time we interact with others, we do so to improve their lives.” With over 10 years of experience, ERX is an industry leader that demonstrates a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction by following best practices and industry standards to meet the needs, wants, and desires of our customers. We are growing company providing superior emergency property restoration services restoring structural and personal property caused by water, fire, mold, biohazard, and other conditions and we have a vision to become the “Titans” of the Restoration Industry.
Role Description:
We're hiring an experienced Estimator who can move confidently between the restoration and construction sides of the business — writing residential and commercial estimates, catching scope that others miss, and negotiating with adjusters to bring it home.
This is a field-and-phone role, not a desk job. You'll be in daily contact with adjusters, Project Managers, and homeowners, managing multiple active files at once and making sure ERX captures every dollar it has legitimately earned.
Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Write detailed residential and commercial estimates for water, fire, storm, and mold losses using Xactimate
- Conduct independent field inspections and build your own scope — not just validate someone else's
- Identify corrective and supplemental scope that was missed, underpaid, or improperly excluded
- Compare ERX scope against adjuster estimates line-by-line and document a clear position on every discrepancy
- Submit and negotiate supplements proactively, not after the fact at invoicing
- Apply and defend O&P on all eligible multi-trade projects
- Identify and incorporate code-upgrade (Ordinance & Law) requirements into the estimate
- Coordinate with Project Managers on scope alignment before work starts, so every estimate is buildable
- Manage an active multi-file queue across carriers, project types, and TPA programs
- Work within TPA program guidelines (Alacrity, Contractor Connection, Sedgwick, and others) without leaving money on the table
- Build and manage Time & Materials (T&M) estimates with the same discipline as line-item scopes, including accurate labor tracking, equipment documentation, and material receipts to support billing
What We’re Looking For
- Background in both restoration (IICRC-grounded) and general construction estimating
- Hands-on field experience — mitigation tech, PM, or superintendent background sharpens estimate quality
- Experience with Xactanalysis and TPA program portals
- Ability to read construction drawings or engineering documents
- Familiarity with carrier-specific documentation preferences (State Farm, Allstate, USAA, Travelers, and others)
Why Join Us
- Work that matters — every estimate you write moves a family or business closer to getting their property restored
- A multi-division company with real scale and real room to grow
- A hybrid schedule based out of our Hickory, NC office
- Collaboration with an experienced team of Project Managers, mitigation professionals, and purchasing specialists
- Leadership that values your expertise and gives you room to own your files
- Competitive Salary
- Benefits – Including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability Insurance
- 401K – Including 401K match
Who Thrives Here
- Someone who will take ownership of their files, not let things sit, and they treat thoroughness — not inflation — as the way to maximize value.
- If you get frustrated when scope gets left on the table, and you're motivated to fix it, this is the environment for you.
