Job Description:
This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include delivering complex features and technology, enabling development efficiencies, providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations, and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies. Additionally, this job is accountable for end-to-end solution design and delivery.
Overview:
The Senior Engineer serves as the technical leader responsible for defining architecture and guiding the delivery of complex technology solutions that drive significant business outcomes. This role leads the design and implementation of AI-enabled solutions, workflow orchestration, network automation, and enterprise integrations while establishing architectural standards, reusable patterns, and technical direction. The position partners across business, engineering, product, and operations teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with enterprise strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution
- Define the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluate and adapt new testing tool/framework/practices for team(s)
- Enables team(s)/applications with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) capabilities and engages with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline
- Guides and influences team(s) on design and best practices for high code performance –e.g. pairing, code reviews
- Provides end-to-end delivery of complex features, including automation, for either a single team or multiple teams, at the program level
- Conducts research, design prototyping and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CI/CD, and features
- Works with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements
- Define and lead the architectural vision for large-scale AI, agentic, automation, and network transformation initiatives
- Design scalable, modular solutions that integrate AI capabilities, workflow orchestration, enterprise systems, and deterministic automation
- Evaluate system impacts, dependencies, interfaces, and implementation trade-offs to guide architecture and technology decisions
- Translate evolving business objectives into architecture roadmaps, solution designs, and implementation approaches
- Establish architectural standards, reusable patterns, templates, and governance practices to drive consistency and delivery efficiency
- Partner with engineering, product, and delivery teams to support implementation planning, resolve technical challenges, and ensure successful execution
- Define and communicate non-functional requirements, including security, scalability, resiliency, observability, performance, and supportability
- Drive alignment across stakeholders and provide technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle from concept through production delivery
- Support network automation and infrastructure modernization initiatives leveraging software engineering and automation best practices
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Extensive experience with Python development, object-oriented programming, data structures, multithreading, and multiprocessing
- Strong experience developing web applications and REST APIs using Django and Django REST Framework (DRF)
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including data modeling and query optimization
- Deep understanding of enterprise network and security architectures, infrastructure platforms, and automation principles
- Experience with Cisco, Check Point, Fortinet, F5, AVI, or similar networking and security technologies
- Strong knowledge of network automation frameworks, integration patterns, and enterprise system connectivity
- Experience defining architecture and technical strategy for complex enterprise solutions spanning applications, data, integrations, automation, and workflow domains
- Experience designing solutions for AI-enabled use cases, orchestration platforms, deterministic automation, and tool integrations
- Ability to evaluate dependencies, non-functional requirements, architectural risks, and implementation trade-offs across large-scale solutions
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture standards, technology governance, security controls, and regulated environments
- Experience collaborating with architecture, engineering, product, delivery, and operations teams to achieve successful outcomes
- Proficiency with Git and modern software engineering practices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with network orchestration and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Itential, Ansible, and Terraform
- Familiarity with AI and agentic solution frameworks, including orchestration, tool interaction patterns, and model-enabled workflows
- Experience with front-end technologies such as Vue.js, Angular, or similar frameworks
- Knowledge of Linux administration and system operations
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale automation, transformation, or modernization initiatives within large organizations
