About Our Client
Our client in the commercial real estate industry, located in North York, is hiring a Commercial Property Accountant for a permanent position
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements for a portfolio of commercial properties, including variance analysis and timely reporting
- Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and maintaining general ledger integrity
- Oversee AR/AP processes, including tenant billings, rent rolls, CAM recoveries, HST filings, and resolving tenant account issues
- Support budgeting and forecasting, including annual budgets, reforecasts, and tracking budget vs. actual performance
- Partner with property management and internal teams, while driving process improvements and providing guidance to junior staff
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for larger shopping centers (30%), monthly report preparation (60%) and assist with TMI preparation (10%)
Qualifications
- 4+ years of Property Accounting experience
- Yardi Voyager software would be an asset
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
