About the Opportunity

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Director of Food & Beverage to join a hospitality organization in the San Francisco Bay Area that is investing significantly in the evolution of its food and beverage program.

As the property continues its transformation toward a more elevated and upscale positioning, we are seeking a leader with a strong background in luxury hotels or resorts who can elevate service standards, enhance culinary programming, and create exceptional guest experiences.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future direction of the food and beverage operation while driving operational excellence, team engagement, guest satisfaction, and financial performance.

Position Summary

The Director of Food & Beverage will provide strategic and operational leadership for all food and beverage functions, including restaurants, bars, catering, banquets, culinary operations, and guest amenity programs. This individual will partner closely with hotel leadership to enhance offerings, strengthen service culture, and maximize performance across all outlets.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead all food and beverage operations with a focus on elevated guest experiences and exceptional service standards.
• Drive enhancements to culinary, beverage, banquet, and outlet offerings.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing food and beverage team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and guest-focused service.
• Ensure financial objectives are met through effective budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost controls.
• Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs while maximizing profitability.
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue through innovative programming and premium guest experiences.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational excellence.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive Food & Beverage leadership experience within luxury hotels, resorts, or upscale hospitality environments.
• Demonstrated success leading multiple outlets, banquet operations, catering, and culinary teams.
• Experience elevating or repositioning food and beverage programs to align with luxury or upper-upscale service standards.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, labor management, and cost controls.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
• Food safety certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
