Position Summary
The Production Supervisor executes on a single shift within a designated production area, delivering safety, quality, and production goals in real time. This role owns shift-level execution and the development of the team on that shift making the real-time decisions that keep the line running to the standards set above it and modeling the Weaver Culture in all actions and interactions.

Essential Functions
Safety & Sanitation
- Enforce safety protocols and SOPs across all shift operations; goal is zero OSHA recordables.
- Identify safety issues, determine root cause, and implement long-term resolutions.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the production floor throughout and at shift end.
- Escalate unresolved safety concerns to the Department Manager and Director of EH&S.
Quality & Food Safety
- Empower team members to own food safety and product integrity; ensure GMPs, allergen control, and sanitation standards are met and enforced.
- Verify sanitation completion, non-conforming material procedures, and startup verifications.
- Manage quality incidents in Safety Chain and launch root-cause analysis; ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Conduct line checks and confirm documentation and physical compliance; support monthly quality training and close QPI audit opportunities.
Production & Efficiency
- Manage line efficiency through proactive planning of materials and staffing.
- Monitor OEE, line output, scrap, waste, and performance trends; adjust operations in real time to downtime, material, or demand changes.
- Ensure Line Leads document downtime clearly (LEDS and End-of-Shift Reports); escalate downtime, quality, or safety issues.
- Ensure demand prioritization and production-schedule adherence.
Talent Development & Team Management
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of team members and line leaders; provide coaching, recognition, and feedback.
- Conduct and document performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and attendance-point tracking.
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings; encourage growth through cross-training and skill development; lead alignment with the Weaver Culture.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Communicate effectively with Maintenance, Sanitation, and Quality teams.
- Support WME initiatives and participate in Continuous Improvement workstreams or pillars.
Systems & Reporting
- Proficient in AS400 (schedules, negative-inventory reports, BOMs, scrap reporting, inventory reconciliation).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, LEDS, Safety Chain, and Windows OS.
- Complete thorough downtime shift reports with solutions and responsible parties clearly stated.
Continuous Improvement
- Actively engaged in WME and AMD activities; ensure and coach basic problem-solving when triggered.
- Understand losses across the cells (scrap, downtime, waste); review skill matrix, training, and validations through CSD.
Success Metrics
Shift safety (recordables/near-miss reporting), food-safety and quality compliance, OEE and output, scrap/waste, schedule adherence, and team member development for the shift.

Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English to perform job duties effectively and safely.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food or CPG.
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality standards, and production KPIs.
- Effective communicator with solid decision-making and conflict-resolution skills.
Preferred
- Associate or technical degree.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and lead a team while driving change.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role performs essential functions on an active food-production floor. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods (up to a full shift); frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; reach, bend, stoop, and occasionally climb stairs, ladders, or platforms and work at elevated heights. Work environment includes exposure to moving machinery, wet and slippery surfaces, temperature variation (ambient, refrigerated, and elevated-heat areas), and elevated noise levels.
Required personal protective equipment (hearing protection, safety footwear, hairnets/beard nets, and other GMP-required PPE) must be worn at all times on the floor. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
