About the Role/s
The Lecturer Teaching Specialist (Clinical Practitioner) will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of Palliative & End of Life Care topics in the College of Health and Enablement. The incumbent will be responsible for making an independent contribution to teaching and the scholarship of teaching using innovations in teaching practices and technologies to deliver excellence in teaching. You will have the opportunity to develop teaching materials, deliver lectures/tutorials or other innovative teaching and learning strategies, coordinate topics and support assessment work. Another exciting aspect of this role is the opportunity to concurrently engage in practice in a clinical or community setting to support maintenance of contemporary practice, knowledge and skills.
The Senior Lecturer Teaching Specialist (Clinical Practitioner) will provide leadership in delivering excellence in teaching and learning across the suite of Palliative and End-of-life Care topics and courses in the College of Healthcare and Enablement, that enhance the student experience. The role will provide educational leadership; curriculum design and review; delivery innovation; advancements in education technologies; and leadership in ensuring internal and external compliance and accreditation of courses and continuous quality improvement of university-level education. The Senior Lecturer will also be expected to concurrently engage in practice in a clinical or community setting to support maintenance of contemporary practice, knowledge and skills.

About You
Lecturer
You are passionate about educating the next generation of palliative & end of life care professionals, evident through your track record of clinical leadership, excellence in teaching at a tertiary level, coupled with your contribution to the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies. You also have a good understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, scholarship and practice.
Senior Lecturer
You have significant and sustained evidence of excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level, inclusive of simulation and/or clinical setting, as well as student placement and have experience in coordinating and leading the teaching activities of other staff. You bring a strong understanding of the connection between teaching and learning, research, scholarship and professional practice. You are also able to demonstrate a commitment to enhancing teaching excellence through engagement in teaching and learning strategies, scholarly activities, and ongoing professional development in a higher education teaching.
In this role/s you will also demonstrate:
- Completion of a PhD, or other relevant and equivalent qualification and/or experience.
- Hold and maintain a current membership with a relevant professional association.
- An understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to Palliative and End of Life Care.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with staff, students and industry nationally and/or internationally.
