Management Level:
Class 2Applicants must have no disciplinary actions within the last 6 months, a point level = 6 attendance points and 6 months in current area unless the TM is promoting, then less than 6 months in current area is allowable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleans and sanitize the chick room with pressure washer (20%)
- Laundry and performing general upkeep on the hatchery’s cleanliness. (25%)
- Daily checks on setters and hatchers (20%)
- Go through customer chicks before pick up. (20%)
Other duties, responsibilities and activities:
- These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice due to having to cover team members or hatchery demand. This can include washing chick boxes, cleaning hatchers and/or setters, unloading trucks, pull birds, helping Embrex, etc. (15%)
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements/Safety:
- The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly pull empty farm and setter buggies on casters weighing approximately 200 pounds. Must regularly push/pull setter buggies on casters weighing up to 700-1300 pounds. Must occasionally lift chick boxes weighing approximately 15 pounds. Must be able to regularly bend, stoop and reach above head. Must be able to obtain scissor lift certification. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
- Tools and Equipment: Farm and setter buggies, pallet jack, foamer, high pressure, water hose, floor scrubber, scale.
- Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
- Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles, face shield, chemical/rubber gloves, waterproof apron, and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs and NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed. Safety glasses are required.
- Chemicals Commonly Used: Formaldehyde, disinfectants and foamers.
- Safety: TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. TM is expected to identify, address and mitigate safety related risks.
