The EIT II supports the planning, design, analysis, and delivery of engineering land development projects under the guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer. This role applies growing technical experience and problem-solving skills to moderately complex assignments while collaborating with project managers, clients, public agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
Support the design and preparation of civil site development plans for commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects, including grading, drainage, paving, and utility systems.
Perform site layout, earthwork calculations, and stormwater management analyses.
Assist with preparation of reports, exhibits, and technical documentation for zoning, entitlement, and permitting approvals.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies to support permitting and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Assist in the planning, analysis, and design of engineering projects in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and project requirements.
Prepare engineering calculations, technical documentation, and design deliverables under the guidance of senior engineers.
Utilize engineering software, drafting tools, and standard office applications to support assigned tasks.
Coordinate with project managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
Communicate technical information clearly and effectively through written documents, drawings, and verbal coordination.
Manage assigned tasks to meet established schedules and quality expectations.
Participate in internal meetings and coordination efforts related to assigned projects.
Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and professional standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
Engineer-in-Training (EIT/EI) certification, preferred
Minimum of 1 year of relevant engineering experience
Working knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, and applicable codes and standards
Proficiency with common engineering software, drafting/design tools, and standard office applications
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a team environment
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed
