CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Engineer II to join our Generation & Energy Management Team in Carlow, Ireland. In this role, you will support the planning and design of practical energy solutions across cogeneration, combined-cycle systems, boilers, chillers, renewable energy, district energy, and electric and gas interconnections.
What You'll Do:
- Participate in the planning, analysis, and design of power and thermal generation projects that improve process and energy efficiency
- Assist in preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, and cost comparisons under the guidance of senior engineers
- Evaluate technical information, identify discrepancies, and help develop practical solutions aligned with client goals and project requirements
- Develop familiarity with applicable regulations, as well as firm and client standards
- Participate in field assignments to assess existing conditions, support facility upgrades, and help limit operational interference during implementation
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- Minimum of 2 years of related engineering experience required
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Strong theoretical knowledge and willingness to learn within the engineering discipline
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures and engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with data management and spreadsheet experience required
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
