Recovery Intervention Service Ealing (RISE) is an integrated end-to-end treatment and recovery service which offers a wide range of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions to Ealing residents 18 years and over to their families and significant others who are experiencing issues with drugs and/or alcohol use. RISE is a consortium, with CGL being the lead contractor, and includes Central and North West London NHS Mental Health Trust (CNWL) and two service user led organizations and Build on Belief (BOB).
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Change Grow Live Ealing RISE for an enthusiastic, dedicated and outcome focused Recovery Worker to join our successful Ealing Drug and Alcohol Team for people experiencing homelessness on a Sessional basis.
We’re looking for a committed professional to support Homeless individuals with substance use needs, many of whom face additional challenges such as neurodevelopmental conditions, learning disabilities, unstable housing, poor health, safeguarding concerns, and limited support networks.
You’ll manage a dedicated caseload and work flexibly across the community, offering assertive outreach.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone resilient, empathetic, and motivated to drive change where it matters.

Responsibilities
About the role:
- To engage with a range of individuals who misuse substances and have adopted ‘street-based living’ with a view to engaging them in appropriate services and moving them into more settled lifestyles.
- Increase service user choice, service user involvement and empower service users to maintain sustainable change; working collaboratively and proactively to ensure that services are fully co-ordinated and are working collectively towards the achievement of goals and positives outcomes for each individual client.
- To build and develop service users’ personal strengths and social networks in the UK and/or in the individual’s country of origin.
- To provide a range of flexible and effective interventions to engage with hard to reach service users.
Abilities and Skills (essential criteria):
- Excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
- Confidence to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of services, representing the organisation and creating effective pathways
- Confidence to work autonomously as well as part of the team.
- The ability to work with confidence and patience with clients unwilling to engage with services and those that exhibit challenging behaviour.
- The ability to work unsociable hours as and when required.
- Good level of IT literacy, including the ability to use IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to critically reflect and evaluate interventions, service delivery and areas for development
Desirable criteria:
- Experience of working as part of an outreach team
- Experience of working with people experiencing homelessness
- Experience of working within the substance misuse sector
- Knowledge of local services and geography
