Job Title: Senior Indirect Tax Manager

Reports to: VP, EMEA Services Centre

A little bit about our team:

Warner Music’s EMEA Shared Service Centre is the home to the financial, tax and administrative functions that provide critical support and best-in-class services to our European Recorded Music and Publishing businesses. The UK Centre embodies the innovative and creative spirit that stems from the company’s deep history in nurturing entrepreneurial thinking and artist-focused innovation, enabling our employees to develop a wide range of skills through cross-function collaboration and development opportunities.

The Indirect Tax Team sits within our EMEA Shared Services Centre and provides tax compliance across the region for all business lines. As WMG transitions to SAP S/4HANA, the team plays a crucial role in embedding tax processes into new systems and ensuring data integrity and compliance across multiple territories.

Your role:

As the Senior Indirect Tax Manager, you will report directly to the VP, EMEA Services Centre and take overall ownership of indirect tax compliance across Europe. You will lead and mentor a team of indirect tax professionals, transforming the compliance function into a true Centre of Excellence. In addition to regional compliance, you will play a vital role in global indirect tax governance, establishing standards and controls that resonate worldwide.

A critical component of this role involves spearheading our digital tax transformation. You will partner closely with the Finance Transformation ("FIT") team to ensure our systems—specifically the OneSource Compliance tool—are expertly configured to drive the automated, seamless generation of indirect tax returns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall European Compliance & Process Ownership

  • Assume overall responsibility and accountability for end-to-end indirect tax compliance (VAT, GST, WHT, etc.) across all European territories.

  • Ensure the timely and highly accurate preparation, review, and submission of all returns, maintaining rigorous adherence to local regulations.

• People Management & Leadership

  • Line manage the Indirect Tax Managers and oversee a broader team of Tax Analysts.

  • Drive talent development, build team capability, manage performance, and foster a high-performing, collaborative culture where your team is recognized as the go-to experts within WMG.

• Finance Transformation & Automation

  • Act as the primary tax liaison with the Finance Transformation ("FIT") team.

  • Direct the configuration, testing, and deployment of the OneSource Compliance tool, ensuring it is appropriately optimized for the automated generation of indirect tax returns.

  • Champion the integration of tax processes in alignment with the SAP S/4HANA deployment.

• Global Indirect Tax Governance

  • Establish, monitor, and enforce robust internal controls, standard operating procedures, and risk management frameworks for indirect tax processes.

  • Drive elements of global governance by standardizing best practices, aligning European operations with broader WMG global tax policies, and mitigating cross-border tax risks.

• Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a senior trusted advisor to leadership, non-tax stakeholders, local finance teams, and record labels regarding complex tax issues and business changes.

  • Coordinate with the central Corporate Tax Team on complex advisory, policy, and technical controversy matters.

About you:

• You have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, tax, or a related field (a relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent is highly preferred).

• You bring 8+ years’ experience in indirect tax within a multinational organization or top-tier professional services firm, with a strong focus on compliance and governance.

• You possess proven people management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

• You have a comprehensive, expert-level understanding of indirect and withholding tax regulations across Europe.

• You have significant experience driving tax technology and finance transformation projects, with specific, hands-on expertise in configuring and utilizing tax engines like ONESOURCE and ERPs like SAP S/4HANA.

• You are highly articulate, with the ability to translate complex tax and technology requirements into clear strategies for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• You are a strategic thinker who can balance day-to-day operational execution with global governance and long-term process innovation.

We’d love it if you also had:

• Fluency in English and proficiency in an additional European language (e.g., French, German, Italian, Spanish).

• Experience navigating and leading through large-scale corporate system migrations.

• Deep knowledge of GAAP-to-tax adjustments and complex data mapping for tax automation.
