The Role

 

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Product Manager to join our Rapid Diagnostics team Macquarie Park, Sydney. Reporting to the Country Manager, ANZ and PI, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, driving portfolio growth, and delivering sustainable business results across a portfolio of innovative infectious disease diagnostic products.

 

This is a highly visible role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You will work closely with Sales, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Finance, Market Access, and Commercial Excellence teams to identify opportunities, launch new products, optimise portfolio performance, and strengthen our market position.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual marketing plans and quarterly portfolio strategies to drive growth and market share.
• Manage assigned product portfolios, ensuring strong brand stewardship and commercial performance.
• Lead go-to-market planning and execution for new products, product upgrades, and market development initiatives.
• Analyse market trends, customer insights, competitor activity, and market data to identify growth opportunities.
• Monitor sales performance, profitability, market share, and campaign effectiveness, implementing contingency plans where required.
• Forecast demand and work cross-functionally to manage supply and inventory risks.
• Partner with Commercial Excellence and Sales teams to develop product training and capability-building initiatives.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Finance, and Market Access teams to support product and pricing updates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent Abbott at customer events, conferences, advisory boards, and industry meetings.
• Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, Science, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in sales and/or marketing within the pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare, or diagnostics industry.
• Proven track record of delivering commercial growth and achieving business objectives.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Excellent communication, influencing, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Previous experience in diagnostics is advantageous but not essential.
