Senior Analyst, Finance Business Partner

Overview
Mastercard’s Technology (TECH) Business Unit operates the company’s integrated global payments processing network. TECH uses its expertise to make payments safe, simple, and smart. TECH Finance team strives to provide accurate financial and operational data to our business partners to enable sound financial decision making.
The Finance Business Partner is responsible for providing financial guidance and support to our business partners, reporting, planning including budget & forecast, and ad-hoc analysis. Key to prospering in this role are the abilities to interpret data, devise strategic plans, assume leadership, and cultivate connections with colleagues across the global Mastercard network. Duties include managing all facets of the routine financial tasks such as facilitating the monthly close, preparing annual budgets and routine forecasts, conducting financial analyses, identifying financial variances, as well as highlighting potential opportunities and risks.

Role
• Prepare annual budget and quarterly forecasts as well as support overall planning processes
• Provide insights and financial reporting to management on actual results including analysis of opportunities & risks
• Identify potential efficiencies within the programs and provide recommendations to operational leadership
• Assist with strategy and process improvements related to budgeting, forecasting, systems and other key areas to ensure alignment with market objectives; proactively identify ways to improve processes and execute agreed upon improvements
• Embody leading beyond finance by developing, running and maintaining financial/business models to analyze performance and business opportunities (e.g. Dashboard, KPIs, financial & business metrics)
• Manage financial close and forecast, including analysis of key performance metrics and P&L line items to derive risks and opportunities, as well as management of parameter input e.g. Hyperion load
• Identify, analyze, and communicate trends and issues affecting the business, including addressing ad hoc financial queries or analysis, and assist to formulate and drive mitigation plans
• Maintain and develop performance and expense tracking reports to drive insight and accountability with the business.
• Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
• Work closely with Sourcing on deal analysis towards new and renewal of complex agreements across third party spend (hardware, software, managed services, etc.) to get the best possible deal for Mastercard from a pricing and risk perspective
• This role will provide rotational opportunities for analysts to work in different areas of the technology spend, to get a broader experience over time

All About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
• Excellent finance skills including modelling/business case development and scenario analysis, budget, planning and forecast experience
• Good understanding of reporting, forecasting and budgeting techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while operating in a team environment.
• Ability to perform successfully in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and manage multiple priorities and assignments concurrently
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong strategic thinking and business understanding.
