The position serves as the lead finance and procurement liaison for the Library and maintains collaborative relationships with University administrative offices to ensure sound stewardship of resources and alignment with institutional policies and priorities.

The Director provides leadership in financial management, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, policy development, human resources coordination, facilities management, and operational administration. In partnership with the Dean’s Executive Assistant and administrative staff, the Director serves as an administrative fulcrum for the organization, helping to align people, processes, resources, and information in support of the Dean’s office and Library leadership. Through the integration of administrative systems and services, the Director advances operational excellence, promotes accountability and compliance, and helps position the Library to meet evolving institutional and community needs.

The Director provides leadership and guidance on matters related to budgeting, procurement, human resources coordination, facilities planning, organizational effectiveness, policy implementation, and strategic initiatives. Depending on the final organizational structure, the position may directly supervise administrative services staff and related operational functions.

The Director maintains collaborative partnerships with numerous University offices, including Human Resources, the Benefits Office, Advancement, the Student Employment Office, Procurement, the Main Campus Office of Finance and Business Services, Georgetown University Police Department (GUPD), University Facilities, and other administrative units. Through these partnerships, the position strengthens the Library’s capacity to support Georgetown University’s mission of teaching, learning, research, and service by ensuring that administrative resources, systems, and infrastructure effectively advance the Library’s strategic goals and long-term sustainability.
