Manufacturing Engineering Technician

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Engineering
SUPERVISOR: Engineering Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports CEPA's business in a Manufacturing Engineering and Document Control role in order to achieve maximum growth and profitability. This role enables CEPA's Manufacturing Technicians to successfully execute the on-time delivery of high-quality finished goods to all of our valued customers.

This position is the bridge between customer requirements and the production floor. You'll review customer drawings and documentation, build accurate BOMs and labor plans, and make sure our technicians have clear instructions, the right tooling, and up-to-date travelers for every job. You'll also own document control, keeping revision levels accurate and processing ECOs, ECRs, and stop work orders.

This is a hands-on role. You'll work closely with Production, Sales, Quality, and customers, spend time on the floor supporting technicians and expedited jobs, and help identify and fix issues before they impact quality, cost, or delivery. It's a great fit for someone with a strong cable/harness or RF assembly background who enjoys problem solving and wants their work to directly support the military and aerospace products we build.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certificate in manufacturing, electronics, or a related field preferred.

  • Will maintain a sense of teamwork with all employees.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 (certification preferred).
  • Familiarity with RF connectors, coaxial cable assembly, and related termination methods.
  • Knowledge of crimp, solder, and termination tooling and how to select the right tooling for a job.
  • Understanding of document control, revision control, and ECO/ECR processes.*
  • Basic root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience creating BOMs, travelers, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experience with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
