Job Description:
The Engineering Technician II is responsible for supporting engineering, testing, validation, and manufacturing activities through hands-on technical expertise and problem-solving. This role contributes to organizational objectives by conducting testing, troubleshooting equipment and systems, and supporting product development and quality initiatives. The position works with moderate independence to execute testing procedures, analyze results, and assist with resolving technical issues. This role plays a key part in ensuring product performance, reliability, and continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing operations.Primary Duties:
- Conduct performance, reliability, and validation testing of products, components, and systems in accordance with established procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues identified during testing and evaluation activities.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation to support testing and product development efforts.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data to support engineering decisions and product improvements.
- Assist with prototype assembly, test setup, instrumentation, and laboratory activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and laboratory personnel to support product development and operational objectives.
- Provide feedback regarding product performance, testing methods, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain testing equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to product or process issues.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with implementation of engineering changes and product modifications.
- Support calibration, maintenance, and verification of laboratory and testing equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, testing efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
- Assist with preparation of technical reports and engineering documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires an Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, HVAC Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline;
- 2+ years of experience in engineering support, testing, manufacturing, laboratory operations, or a related technical field,
- Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred:
- Experience in HVAC, manufacturing, product testing, or industrial environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and testing methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience using testing equipment, diagnostic instruments, and hand tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and document technical data accurately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work around mechanical, electrical, and testing equipment safely.
- Ability to work in elevated areas or confined spaces when required.
Work Environment:
- Perform work primarily in laboratory, testing, and manufacturing environments.
- Regular exposure to HVAC systems, test equipment, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Frequent interaction with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and laboratory personnel.
- Exposure to noise, vibration, temperature variations, and industrial conditions associated with testing and production activities.
- Compliance with all applicable safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- This role is classified as a Safety Sensitive Position, requiring heightened awareness and adherence to all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
