About the role 

We are looking for an Engineer Maintenance to provide technical assistance, support and expert advice on maintenance and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Superintendent Planning & Engineering, you will work across fixed plant assets to improve maintainability, reliability and asset performance. You will support maintenance teams with planning, defect elimination, root cause analysis, shutdowns and asset recovery, while translating asset condition and performance information into practical maintenance strategies.

What you’ll be doing 

Reporting to the Superintendent Planning & Engineering and working with maintenance, asset health, planning and operational teams, you will: 

• Provide technical support to maintenance teams for fixed plant assets, including planned work, shutdowns and breakdown response. 

• Analyse equipment failures and complete root cause investigations, recommending and tracking corrective actions. 

• Review asset condition, defects and performance data to prioritise maintenance and reliability improvements. 

• Develop and improve maintenance strategies, tactics and work scopes using risk, cost and asset criticality information. 

• Lead maintainability and continuous improvement initiatives that improve safety, reliability and cost performance. 

• Support asset recovery activities and the return of equipment to a safe, functional state. 

• Provide engineering input to minor projects, repair scopes and replacement decisions. 

• Coach maintenance personnel and support consistent application of work management and quality assurance processes. 

About you

Required for Success 

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team. 

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant discipline, or equivalent technical experience. 

• Experience in maintenance engineering, reliability engineering or fixed plant asset management in mining or another safety-critical industrial environment. 

• Experience applying root cause analysis, defect elimination and continuous improvement methods. 

• Ability to interpret asset condition, cost, risk and performance information to develop practical maintenance recommendations. 

• Working knowledge of SAP or a comparable computerised maintenance management system. 

Helpful for Success 

• Experience with maintenance strategy development, shutdown support, asset recovery or minor capital projects. 

• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or another structured improvement methodology. 

• Experience working with fixed plant, heavy mobile equipment or process engineering stakeholders.
