Description

At Roche you can show up as yourself, embraced for the unique qualities you bring. Our culture encourages personal expression, open dialogue, and genuine connections,  where you are valued, accepted and respected for who you are, allowing you to thrive both personally and professionally. This is how we aim to prevent, stop and cure diseases and ensure everyone has access to healthcare today and for generations to come. Join Roche, where every voice matters.

The Position

Are you passionate about driving scientific strategies that transform clinical practice and improve patients' lives? We are looking for a Medical Affairs Lead to define and execute the comprehensive medical strategy for Roche Diagnostics Spain.

In this high-impact role, you will serve as the primary liaison between the scientific community, international expert networks, and Roche’s global medical teams. Your mission will be to lead evidence generation, shape the scientific positioning of our diagnostic solutions, and act as a key internal strategic partner—ensuring that science and clinical excellence guide our business decisions.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Integrated Medical Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute integrated medical plans across key therapeutic areas, aligning local priorities in Spain with Roche’s global medical strategy.

  • KOL Engagement & Scientific Partnerships: Lead engagement with a broad national network of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Tier-1 international experts. You will foster long-term scientific partnerships and capture high-quality clinical insights to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Evidence Generation & Early Adoption: Drive the generation of required medical evidence (both company-sponsored and Investigator-Initiated Studies) in alignment with strategic priorities, enabling the early adoption of Roche’s technologies into clinical practice guidelines and consensus statements.

  • Medical Education & Capability Building: Design and deliver medical education and training programs for field teams, enhancing scientific communication, technical accuracy, and engagement effectiveness.

  • Cross-Functional Strategic Partnership: Provide scientific leadership and influence decision-making across internal stakeholders (Marketing, Market Access, Sales, and Medical), ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the overall medical strategy.

Who You Are

We are looking for a candidate with a strong scientific background, business acumen, and proven leadership through influence.

  • Education: Degree in Life Sciences (MD, MSc, PhD).

  • Professional Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in evidence generation and project management within the healthcare sector (Medtech, IVD, or Pharma).

  • Capabilities & Core Skills:

    • Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate complex scientific data into actionable value propositions.

    • Leadership & Drive: Results-oriented with a strong commitment to operational excellence.

    • Effective & Assertive Communication: Skilled in tailoring complex technical messages for diverse audiences—from scientific boards to senior management.

    • Collaboration & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration within a matrix organization.

  • Languages: High level of English and Spanish (essential for daily interaction with global medical teams and international networks).

  • Location: Sant Cugat, Barcelona.

What is here for You?

  • Real Impact on Healthcare: A high-visibility role where your strategic input and evidence generation projects directly contribute to transforming diagnostic solutions and personalized healthcare.

  • Global Exposure: Direct collaboration with global leadership teams, cross-border projects, and international expert panels.

  • Culture of Innovation & Development: A dynamic, flexible, and collaborative environment that fosters continuous learning, autonomy, and professional growth.
