GE Vernova’s FACTS solutions, including STATCOM and SVC systems, support grid stability, power quality, and renewable energy integration.

We are looking for a Technical Owner – MV Primary Components to provide senior technical ownership of medium-voltage primary equipment used in global FACTS projects. This is a hands-on electrical engineering role suited to someone with experience in MV/HV primary equipment, substation primary design, or related grid engineering.

You will lead the specification, selection, integration, and technical support of components such as reactors, capacitor banks, resistors, surge arresters, instrument transformers, disconnectors, earthing switches, insulators, and related equipment.

Job Description

What you’ll do
• Act as the technical owner for MV primary components across tendering and project execution
•    Translate system and customer requirements into equipment specifications and supplier RFQs
•    Review supplier offers, drawings, calculations, and test documentation
•    Support equipment selection with a focus on safety, compliance, reliability, cost, and lead time
•    Resolve technical issues across engineering, suppliers, testing, installation, and commissioning
•    Work closely with systems, layout, mechanical, sourcing, quality, project engineering, and suppliers
•    Improve standard specifications, reusable solutions, and engineering guidance for MV components
•    Support knowledge sharing and technical guidance within the team

What we’re looking for
•    Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or similar
•    Strong experience in MV or HV primary equipment design, substation primary engineering, or a related field
•    Experience with technical specifications, supplier documentation, equipment selection, and engineering reviews
•    Good understanding of IEC standards and primary equipment engineering principles
•    Strong problem-solving and communication skills in English

Especially relevant experience
Experience in one or more of the following would be valuable:
•    Reactors, resistors, capacitor banks, surge arresters, instrument transformers, disconnectors, earthing switches, or insulators
•    FACTS, STATCOM, SVC, HVDC, substations, or grid-connected power systems
•    Supplier engineering, FATs, equipment testing, or technical issue resolution
