The Senior Manager leads a portfolio of priority sales and business development initiatives across the U.S. Commercial Bank. The role translates strategy into coordinated programs, governance, and field execution that support client acquisition, revenue growth, and consistent adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Strategy & Prioritization
Translate Commercial Banking priorities into coordinated portfolio of sales and business development programs.
Recommend program scope, sequencing, resources, governance, and expected outcomes.
Assess initiatives against business priorities, field capacity, dependencies, risks, and opportunities to scale.
Executive Advisory & Stakeholder Leadership
Advise Segment Leaders and functional partners on sales execution and business development priorities.
Build alignment across Sales, Product, Marketing, Strategy, Operations, Technology, and other delivery partners.
Prepare executive recommendations and manage cross-program scope, ownership, timing, or readiness.
Program Governance & Performance
Define portfolio success measures, adoption indicators, reporting expectations, and implementation standards.
Monitor performance and recommend corrective action when results are below expectations.
Ensure program owners manage risks, decisions, stakeholder commitments, and competing priorities.
Field Execution & Continuous Improvement
Ensure programs reflect segment and market needs while maintaining appropriate consistency across U.S. Commercial Banking.
Use field feedback and performance information to identify barriers and refine execution plans and resources.
Sponsor readiness and change activities that improve adoption and sustained execution.
Risk & Accountability
Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying BMO’s Risk Management Framework in the execution of the role, in line with the Bank’s Risk Culture and approved Risk Appetite.
Make sound, risk-informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and comply with applicable policies, standards, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional programs or portfolios in financial services, commercial banking, sales strategy, or business development.
In-depth program and project management skills, including governance, prioritization, risk management, and executive reporting.
Strong understanding of sales execution, field adoption, change readiness, and performance measurement.
Ability to advise senior leaders, influence across organizational boundaries, and resolve ambiguous or non-routine issues.
Expert verbal and written communication, analytical problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder influence skills.
Data-driven orientation with the ability to convert quantitative and qualitative insights into recommendations and action.
Salary:
$112,200.00 - $209,000.00Pay Type:
SalariedThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
