Job Description Summary

The Department of Theatre is seeking a student who is self-motivated, dependable, and familiar with the department’s production season to serve as House Manager.

Job Description

Essential Duties

• Some independent judgment or initiative.
• May involve supervisory responsibilities for an activity of limited scope.
• May require a significant amount of physical exertion, adverse hour, or working conditions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• A considerable knowledge of the work process as obtained through on-the-job training.

Additional Position Information (if applicable)

Essential Duties:

Coordinate and train ushers; manage front of house areas; enforce House rules; liaise with the box office staff; other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Appropriate verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work effectively independently within a team environment.
• Reliability and a friendly demeanor with good attendance habits.
• Must be appropriately dressed to represent a professional work environment.
• Familiarity with the Department of Theatre and its production season.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Patron services/customer service experience.
• Experience coordinating volunteers.
