Avis Alaska | Statewide Position

Full-Time

Compensation: $100,000–$115,000 DOE (Base Salary + Performance Incentives)

Avis Alaska is seeking an outgoing, well-connected, community-minded professional to serve as our Community Engagement & Tourism Manager. This statewide role will build relationships across Alaska’s tourism, business, and community sectors.

We’re looking for someone who understands Alaska, builds meaningful relationships, and can turn conversations and introductions into opportunities for our company, our partners, and the communities we serve.

Because this is a new role, you’ll help shape its direction from the partnerships we prioritize to the way we measure success. You’ll have the resources and statewide reach of Alaska’s largest locally owned rental car company behind you.

Key Responsibilities

Community & Partner Engagement

• Represent Avis Alaska at tourism, business, charity, and community events statewide.

• Build and strengthen relationships with hotels, cruise operators, visitor bureaus, tour operators, chambers of commerce, and other tourism partners.

• Maintain an active network of partners, prospects, and community contacts with consistent follow-up.

Business Development & Brand Growth

• Develop new partnerships, referral sources, and business opportunities that support company growth.

• Strengthen existing partnerships and sponsorships to maximize their value.

• Support marketing efforts by identifying Alaska destinations, partners, and stories worth showcasing.

Tourism & Community Support

• Identify worthwhile community events, sponsorships, and tourism initiatives for Avis Alaska.

• Develop media and community relationships that increase brand awareness.

• Coordinate with leadership and location teams to align opportunities with local operations and seasonal demand.

Travel & Reporting

• Travel throughout Alaska to visit locations, meet partners, and attend events.

• Track and report on partnerships, referrals, sponsorships, and other established KPIs.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Alaska and its communities

• Established relationships, or the ability to build them quickly, statewide

• Comfortable engaging with business owners, tourism leaders, executives, and the public

• Personable, professional, organized, and an excellent communicator

• Comfortable representing Avis Alaska publicly, including through media and promotional content

• Willing and able to travel throughout Alaska

• Background in tourism, hospitality, media, community relations, business development, sales, or marketing preferred
