Supply Chain & Procurement Intern
Position Overview
The Supply Chain & Procurement Intern will support the Procurement and Supply Chain team in the sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and logistical coordination of Food & Beverage, Hotel, and operational supplies across The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection fleet.
This role provides exposure to an international and highly dynamic supply chain environment, supporting luxury yacht operations across multiple regions and markets. The intern will work closely with Procurement, Logistics, Finance, onboard teams, and external suppliers to help ensure the right products are sourced and delivered at the right time, cost, and quality. The position is particularly suited to someone interested in developing practical experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain operations and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Procurement team with daily purchasing and sourcing activities.
- Assist in preparing and managing RFQs, tenders, and supplier bids, including price comparisons and commercial analysis.
- Support the creation and maintenance of purchase orders, requisitions, and procurement records.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, product specifications, availability, lead times, and delivery information.
- Assist with supplier onboarding and registration processes.
- Support price negotiations and benchmarking exercises under the guidance of the Procurement team.
- Monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Assist in identifying alternative products and suppliers when required.
- Support the preparation of procurement reports, spend analyses, and supplier performance reviews.
- Maintain and update item, supplier, and pricing information within procurement systems.
- Help investigate discrepancies between purchase orders, deliveries, and invoices.
- Coordinate with Logistics regarding consolidation, international shipments and vessel loading schedules.
- Work closely with Finance, Operations, and onboard teams to support the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process.
- Support ongoing projects aimed at improving procurement processes, data quality, cost control and supply chain efficiency.
- Participate in market research and sourcing activities for new geographical regions and ports.
Candidate Profile
- Currently completing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, or a related field
- Strong interest in procurement and international supply chain management
- Good analytical skills and confidence working with numbers and commercial data
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP or procurement systems is an advantage
- Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive, curious, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned tasks
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage
- Comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment
