About Our Client
Our client is a growing, fully virtual accounting firm based in the Boston area. They provide outsourced bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and advisory services to small and mid-sized business owners, helping clients manage their finances from anywhere.
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced accountant to join the firm at the partner level. You'll lead a portfolio of client relationships, oversee the quality and accuracy of the firm's accounting and reporting work, and help grow the practice through new client development and expanded advisory services. This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial accounting professional to help shape a modern, virtual firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead advisor for a portfolio of small and mid-sized business clients
- Oversee bookkeeping, month-end close, payroll, and financial reporting for client engagements
- Review financial statements and reports for accuracy and deliver insights to business owners
- Provide advisory services such as cash flow planning, budgeting, KPI reporting, and fractional controller/CFO support
- Coordinate with tax professionals and other advisors on client needs
- Develop new client relationships and expand services with existing clients
- Mentor and supervise staff accountants and bookkeepers
- Help build firm processes, technology, and standards to scale the practice
Qualifications
- 7+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting and/or client advisory services
- CPA strongly preferred
- Strong experience with small business accounting, financial reporting, and payroll
- Proficiency with cloud accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero) and related apps
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in business development and firm growth
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
