About the Role: 

 

As a Financial Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness and consistency of all internal and external financial reporting. You will lead and support a team responsible for financial reporting, accounting, payroll and budgeting, helping to drive high standards and strong financial discipline across the organisation. In this position, you will develop and enhance internal control policies, guidelines and procedures in areas such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting. You will also oversee financial activities and reporting to ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional to make a real impact through strong leadership, sound judgement and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the organisation’s accounting policies, chart of accounts, and applicable accounting principles and practices, and that subsidiary ledgers reconcile with the general ledger.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing procedures, including general ledger account analysis and reconciliation, journal entries, fluctuation reviews, analysis, and investigations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and, to a certain extent, IFRS, as well as Knauf Group accounting and reporting guidelines, to ensure compliance with all internal and external standards.
• Coordinate and manage the Company’s annual financial audit.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Ensure that all standard and special reporting requirements, as defined by management, are completed and submitted in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner.
• Complete and submit all required state and federal government reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• Complete and submit annual and quarterly budgets as requested by senior management.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and respond to enquiries and requests.
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
• Maintain financial security by establishing internal controls.
• Support the implementation of process improvements and efficiencies.
• Manage and motivate staff; review and assess performance, build employee capability, support professional development, and enable employees to optimise their contribution to the department.

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
• MBA with Finance or Accounting concentration preferred
• CPA

Experience:

• Minimum five (5) years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum three (3) years of financial reporting experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Knowledge of financial statements and financial analysis
• Knowledge of ERP systems; preferably SAP

• Computer skills in a MS Windows environment; Advanced Excel skills; Proficient in Word and PowerPoint

• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
• Ability to travel approximately 5-10% of the time
