Corporate Communications Manager, Northern Europe

As a member of our EMEA Communications team, this person will be responsible for managing communications for Northern Europe, an important market for Corteva’s continued business success. This role will elevate how Corteva communicates and engages with internal and external audiences, raising awareness and interest to the organization’s significant achievements and continued focus across agriculture.

Location: the position is based in Paris.

Key Responsibilities:

· Build and strengthen relationships with influential media: top-tier outlets, broadcast outlets, influential regional media and trade media.

· Have extensive experience managing crises, including by managing media sentiment

· Lead proactive and strategic communications counsel and guidance to senior leaders and country teams.

· Create and execute an integrated communications strategy to build, strengthen, and maintain a our policy and business objectives within Northern Europe,

· Develop and deliver compelling external messaging, targeting priority stakeholders.

· Develop and deliver compelling internal messaging to inform, inspire and engage colleagues.

· Work across the business to find, develop and communicate stories centered around innovation, sustainability, and impact.

· Proactively monitor and respond to issues and crises.

· Responsible for execution of strategy: press releases, media interactions and social media, to effectively position the organization in top-tier and other influential media.

· Collaborate with Government and Industry Affairs team to communicate effectively about Corteva’s policy agenda

· Lead and support ad-hoc communication projects, including signature agriculture programs/events.

Professional Experiences/Qualifications

· Demonstrated relationships with a wide range of French media

· Experienced communications professional with 10+ years of experience leading corporate communications , ideally with a focus on top-tier media relations and including crisis management

· Ability to critically assess any given issue and provide counsel on recommended path forward.

· Ability to navigate a matrixed organization effectively and independently.

· Bachelor’s degree.

· Previous experience in working with the agriculture or chemical sector is preferred, but not essential – we welcome candidates from other industries who are eager to learn.

· Strategic mindset that fosters innovative, creative thinking.

· Experience influencing and consulting with internal and external stakeholders.

· Results driven; ability to successfully execute and manage through ambiguity.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional public speaker.

· Effective collaborator, facilitating conversations to bring alignment and confront tough issues.

· Ability to successfully navigate challenging opportunities to meet objectives and deadlines; solves complex problems with minimal guidance.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly adapt to changing needs.

· Fluent in French and English; other languages a plus.

· Ability to travel, when necessary.
