Description
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Summary
As an Operations Central Team (OCT) Contamination Control Engineer, you will lead global contamination control initiatives that enable world-class manufacturing performance and support Micron's commitment to quality and reliability. You will develop and implement contamination control strategies, standardize procedures across sites, and drive improvements that reduce risk, improve yield, and support capacity expansion. This role offers the opportunity to influence manufacturing performance across Micron's global network while demonstrating data analytics, automation, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to accelerate problem-solving and improve operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Lead global contamination control strategies and programs to improve manufacturing performance, reduce contamination risks, and achieve world-class quality outcomes.
- Partner with Manufacturing, QRA, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and other partners to identify, investigate, and resolve contamination-related issues affecting yield, reliability, and product quality.
- Establish, standardize, and communicate contamination control metrics, indicators, standards, and governance frameworks across global manufacturing sites.
- Drive contamination control strategies that enable capacity expansion, throughput improvements, and manufacturing efficiency while maintaining quality and reliability standards.
- Develop and implement contamination prevention and monitoring programs for airborne molecular contamination (AMC), particles, metallic contaminants, humidity, temperature, and other critical environmental factors.
- Lead contamination control programs supporting cross-site wafer transfers, shipment processes, carrier management, and environmental control requirements to ensure consistent product quality across the network.
- Manage strategic contamination control projects by defining objectives, prioritizing resources, tracking progress, and presenting results to partners and leadership.
- Leverage AI, advanced analytics, and automation tools to improve process monitoring, accelerate data-driven decision making, streamline workflows, and drive continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in one of the following areas: Contamination Control, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Yield Engineering, or Semiconductor Operations.
- 5+ years of experience applying one of the following problem-solving methodologies: Failure Analysis, FMEA, 8D, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, or Statistical Analysis.
- 5+ years of experience working in one of the following areas: contamination control, yield improvement, process optimization, reliability improvement, cost reduction, or risk management within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional projects, continuous improvement initiatives, or engineering programs in wafer fabrication or semiconductor manufacturing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and willingness to travel as needed to support global operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, contamination control, cleanroom operations, or advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
- 7+ years of experience developing and implementing global standards, best practices, or operational procedures across multiple manufacturing sites.
- Experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, advanced analytics, or automation solutions to improve engineering effectiveness and manufacturing performance.
- Experience with contamination monitoring systems, supplier quality management, environmental control programs, wafer shipment processes, or capacity expansion initiatives.
