The organization is seeking an Audit Assistant to support its audit and finance functions and contribute to accurate and efficient financial reporting.
Job Overview
The Audit Assistant will support internal and external audit activities by assisting with audit procedures, reviewing financial records, preparing working papers, and ensuring compliance with established accounting and financial control procedures. The role is suitable for an individual with strong analytical skills and a keen interest in developing a career in audit and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting internal and external audit assignments.
- Review financial records, supporting documents, and accounting transactions.
- Prepare audit working papers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in identifying discrepancies, control weaknesses, and potential risks.
- Perform audit testing and verification of financial information.
- Support the preparation of audit reports and documentation.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate and organized audit files and records.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to obtain required information and supporting documents.
- Follow up on audit findings and assist in monitoring corrective actions.
- Support senior audit team members with ad hoc assignments and other finance-related activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Part qualification in CA, ACCA, or CIMA will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience or internship exposure in auditing, accounting, or finance is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, audit procedures, and financial controls.
- Good analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop professionally within the audit and finance function.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
