Process Engineering Manager

Our Engineering team are looking for the right teammate to support the start-up of our first European manufacturing site in Athenry. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, the Process Engineering Manager will lead and manage Engineering resources responsible for supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations, equipment performance, continuous improvement, validation, capacity expansion and operational readiness across the Applicator area.

Where you come in:

• You will manage and supervise resources in process development, product transfer, and process improvement to enhance product quality, decrease cost, and improve manufacturing efficiencies in the Kitting process.
• • You will work together with the Manufacturing Managers to ensure the manufacturing processes meet production targets against lowest cost, according to planning and quality requirements.
• Lead the identification, prioritisation and elimination of equipment and process losses through structured problem solving and continuous improvement.
• You will resolve escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
• Drive capacity, cycle time and productivity improvements to support business growth and operational excellence objectives.
• You will check technical accuracy of work, ensure Design of Experiments (DOE) are appropriate, and review statistical methods used to estimate future manufacturing requirements, production and field performance data.
• You will provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.
• You will give input into developing the budget.
• You will be involved in the cross-functional team discussions and meetings
• You will build, guide, and enhance the engineering team to meet future needs. You will work to engage employees to gain work efficiencies and perform performance reviews.
• You will champion and leads change initiatives; identifies the best approach for implementing process, implementing root cause analyses and problem-solving systems such as DMAIC, A3, Lean Six Sigma across the sustaining engineering team, Product Focus Team (PFT) and beyond.
• Lead equipment installation, commissioning, qualification and validation activities, including IQ, OQ and PQ execution and approval.
• You will develop and execute test plans, and controls related validation protocols. You will review the report write up to ensure equipment/processes meet part/assembly specifications and regulatory requirements.
• You will support the hiring, training, and mentoring of the engineering team
• You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.

What makes you successful:

• Drive capacity, cycle time and productivity improvements to support business growth and operational excellence objectives.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
• You are able to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and conflicting priorities
• Strong knowledge of automated manufacturing processes, equipment and engineering systems within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated success driving operational performance through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 8-12 years of industry experience
• 2-5 years of previous management or lead experience

The annualised base salary for this position is from €85,170.00 to €110,220.00 gross. Final offer will depend on your qualifications, competencies, and professional experience.
