Overview

Presbyterian Homes & Services is seeking an HR Compliance Specialist to join the Home Office Human Resources team.

 

The HR Compliance Specialist supports workforce compliance programs through administration, monitoring, reporting, auditing, and follow-up activities. This position executes established compliance processes, maintains compliance records, performs routine audits and tracking, and provides operational support to the HR Compliance Analyst and broader Workforce Compliance function. The role focuses on ensuring compliance programs are administered consistently, accurately, and timely across the organization.

Responsibilities

Perform areas of responsibility to ensure adherence to regulations and internal policies.

 

Key Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Administer assigned workforce compliance programs and perform routine compliance monitoring, tracking, reporting, and follow-up activities.
  • Execute established compliance processes, procedures, audit protocols, and reminder/escalation workflows to support timely and consistent compliance across the organization.
  • Regularly perform audits, compliance monitoring, and reporting on a wide variety of employment and benefits related systems (Payroll, HR, Benefits, Health & Safety) at designated intervals.
  • Maintain workforce compliance records, databases, tracking tools, reports, and dashboards to support audit readiness and operational follow-up.
  • Perform external audits, certifications, or reporting in areas such as DOT, EEO-1 submission, MN AA Compliance Reports, local/city specific AA reports, and annual OSHA electronic filing.
  • Conduct routine I-9 compliance monitoring, reverification tracking, work authorization expiration follow-up, and related employee/site communications.
  • Support background check and screening compliance activities, including follow-up tracking, state-specific requirements, and reviews.
  • Assist with monitoring of license and certification compliance activities; track exceptions and escalate overdue or non-compliant items according to established procedures.
  •  Prepare and distribute compliance reports for site leaders, HR, Employee Health, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and other stakeholders as assigned.
  • Communicate compliance requirements, deadlines, status updates, and follow-up needs to sites and leaders in a clear, timely, and collaborative manner.
  • Cross-train across workforce compliance programs and provide operational backup to the HR Compliance Analyst and other assigned compliance processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources work experience, preferably with audit experience.
  • Thorough recognition of the importance of internal controls. High ethical standards and diligence in completing duties with the objectives of the business in mind.
  • Strong auditing, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, deadline orientation, thoroughness, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously, and to identify and resolve exceptions and interpret data.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated skills in analyzing information and reporting.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to clearly organize information, understand relevant laws or policies, and identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Pay Range

The estimated starting pay range for this role is $26.79 to $33.49 hourly. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
