Job Purpose

This position plays a vital role in promoting and embodying the mission, vision, and values of YUGM. This role is responsible for providing support  in the warehouse and recycle areas.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Mission & Culture 

· Uphold and promote YUGM’s Christian beliefs and behaviors, core values, policies, and procedures with a high-level of integrity.

· Provide ministry and show kindness and grace to staff, volunteers, clients, donors, and the community.

Core Job Functions 

· Receive food and other products and  stock and organize the YUGM Food Warehouse.

· Lift, move, load, and unload necessary items repeatedly throughout the workday.

· Creating a positive donation experience for our donors and partners by greeting them, quickly picking up  and/or unloading donations, generating receipts, demonstrating flexibility, and thanking the donors.

· Perform and adhere to all safety standards and protocols to help ensure a safe work environment.

· Safely and efficiently operate baling equipment and other equipment used in the daily operations of the  recycling warehouse.

· Safely and efficiently operate power equipment, including electric pallet jacks and forklifts.

· Maintain YUGM cleanliness standards within YUGM Warehouse areas.

· Load/unload trucks when needed.

· Lift items repeatedly up and  overhead.

· Perform all duties related to  moving, stripping, and processing recyclable materials.

· Work alongside all work therapy and  volunteers assigned to the YUGM recycling warehouse.

General Expectations

· Attend, as requested or required, all YUGM trainings and meetings scheduled by the management team to keep current on any policy changes, new procedures, and other information essential to performing the job.  

Other duties as assigned in support of YUGM's mission and values. 

Requirements

Qualifications   

Education and Experience: 

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Washington State Driver’s License (current) and 2-plus years of related experience.

· Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience with inventory or warehouse management systems.

· Experience operating forklifts, box trucks and hydraulic equipment.  

Proficiencies: 

· Ability to work alongside volunteers, programmers, and clients representing a variety of backgrounds – cultural, economic, and those in addiction recovery.

· Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.

· Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, independently or as part of a team.

· Strong interpersonal skills and professional conduct.

Working Conditions   

Primary duties of this position are performed in a variety of environmental extremes.  Will be required to be outdoors in inclement weather and work irregular hours. Most functions will be inside of a well-lit warehouse. 

Physical Requirements   

· Capable of operating forklifts and vehicles.

· Capable of climbing in and out of box trucks multiple times.

· Visual and auditory abilities to effectively perform job tasks.

· Clear and fluent communication in English.

· Capable of walking, climbing stairs, balancing, bending, reaching, and using hands for tasks.   

· Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
