Description
The purpose of this position is to assist the Public Works Department administrative staff with related accounting issues. This position maintains accounting systems and procedures according to Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines. This position works cooperatively with other County Departments.

This position reviews, edits and provides recommendations on department and County-wide budgets. |

Provides project coordination support and recordkeeping on projects. |

This position trains colleagues and explains County procedures or processes. |
WRITTEN COMMUNICATION DUTIES |
This position creates or edits documents, internal memos, emails and formal letters. |

Interacts extensively with employees, customers, the general public, vendors, regulatory bodies, and other groups and/or individuals and Institutions over the telephone, by email, and/or in person. |

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED |
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a closely related field. |
MINIMUM YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED |
Two (2) years experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |
PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIALS REQUIRED/PREFERRED |
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License if position duties require. |
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED |

Incumbents in this position are required to constantly follow written safety procedures and manuals relevant to the division or department. May be required to wear hard hat, eye protection devices on rare occasions. |
