Director, Global Sourcing & Procurement – APAC

Description
Responsible for developing and executing global direct sourcing and procurement strategies while leading APAC sourcing operations. This role drives direct material productivity, supplier performance, procurement transformation, supply resiliency, governance, and talent development. The Director leads category sourcing teams, partners with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Commercial organizations, and ensures sourcing strategies support Franklin Electric's operational, technology, growth, and financial objectives.

- Global Sourcing Strategy & Category Leadership
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies; lead category roadmaps; conduct spend analysis, supplier benchmarking, market intelligence and cost modeling; identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve lead times; lead cross-functional sourcing projects and category strategies.
- Supplier and Category Management
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships; negotiate pricing, contracts, long-term agreements and commercial programs; monitor supplier performance in cost, quality, delivery and innovation; support supplier capacity planning and business continuity.
- Procurement Transformation & Digitalization
- Lead procurement transformation initiatives, system deployments, analytics improvements, governance standardization, process optimization and continuous improvement programs.
- Cost Productivity & Financial Performance
- Own direct material productivity targets, cost reduction programs, cost avoidance initiatives and spend under contract objectives; validate savings in partnership with Finance and support annual operating plans.
- Supply Chain Resiliency & Risk Management
- Establish resilient supply strategies, maintain qualified supply bases, manage supplier risk, support continuity plans, and oversee contractual protections including NDAs and long-term supply agreements.
- New Product Development & Supplier Transitions
- Partner with Engineering and Advanced Sourcing to identify critical parts, qualify suppliers, support NPI launches, and transition sourcing strategies into production.
- People Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop sourcing managers and procurement professionals; oversee recruitment, succession planning, employee engagement, performance management and capability development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong global sourcing expertise; financial and analytical acumen; advanced negotiation capability; contract management; supplier development; executive communication; change leadership; ability to lead within complex matrix organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field required (Masters degree preferred)
- 15+ years of sourcing, procurement or supply chain leadership experience
- 5–7 years of people leadership experience on multi regional level.
- Ability to travel ~35% internationally across APAC supplier and manufacturing locations. Strong executive presence, strategic communication, and capability to influence across cultures, functions and regions.
