Description

The Chowdhury lab and Center for BRCA and Related Genes at DFCI are seeking applicants for a Scientist position. The applicant will develop and implement next-generation sequencing (NGS) workflows to advance our fundamental knowledge of genome instability in the context of HR-deficient cancers and translate these findings into novel therapeutic applications. Collaborations and projects involve direct interaction with academic and biopharma industry partners.

Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. We are united in our mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS and related diseases. We strive to create an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment where we provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all backgrounds, and design programs to promote public health particularly among high-risk and underserved populations. We conduct groundbreaking research that advances treatment, we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers, and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.

The Sr Scientist works on problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Has a wide latitude for decision-making working in conjunction with the PI. Works closely with senior managers and directors on unit/lab issues. Manages the work efforts of at least one individual contributor, mentor's other lab members, and completes performance appraisals. Contributes broad knowledge of the field, strong leadership skills, technical proficiency, and scientific creativity. Works both collaboratively and independently.
