EHS Manager

  Summary:  

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager operates as a business and operational partner who understands manufacturing processes, identifies injury exposures, partners with supervisors and managers, and leverages OSHA regulations, engineering principles, and industry consensus standards to design and implement effective risk reduction strategies.

This role is highly visible in operations, technically competent, engaged with frontline teams, and capable of influencing all levels of the organization to drive injury risk reduction action items to completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Partners with operations, engineering, quality and facilities teams in the identification and correction of hazardous behaviors and conditions through the completion of detailed process hazard analyses. 

· Collaborates with site teams to develop and manage site Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO), Emergency Action Planning (EAP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and other EHS programs. 

· Develop and support environmental compliance programs including both hazardous and non-hazardous waste management

· Coordinator of site EHS training program including HAZCOM, LO/TO, EAP, PPE, Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and other safety policies/procedures.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations by ensuring necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.

· Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying measures.

· Prepare presentations including leading and lagging key performance indicators (KPI) for monthly EHS reports to site leadership

· Coordinate and lead site teams in the completion of routine EHS audits and inspections

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

· B.S. in EHS, Science or related field preferred with a minimum of 3+ years if experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience with OSHA and annual compliance training strongly preferred

· Strong communication, organization and negotiation skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Critical thinking skills

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this      job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands      and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit,    stand and walk. 
• The employee must regularly lift      and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this      job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
