About the role
Reporting to the Senior Manager - Projects, you will be responsible for leading a team of project professionals to safely deliver a portfolio of sustaining capital and Energy Hub projects. You will foster a collaborative, high-performance culture while providing strong leadership, coaching and development opportunities for your team.
The role oversees the planning and delivery of a significant proportion of AGL Macquarie's annual sustaining capital program, while also supporting the Hunter Energy Hub development program. Working closely with operational, engineering, commercial and finance stakeholders, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and aligned to strategic business objectives.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a strong culture of safety, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
Oversee the planning, governance and delivery of a portfolio of sustaining capital and strategic development projects, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required standards.
Drive capital planning, investment prioritisation, financial performance, portfolio reporting and risk management to maximise business value.
Partner with stakeholders across Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Finance and the Hunter Energy Hub to successfully deliver project and business objectives.
Champion project excellence through strong contractor management, effective governance, innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Bring
Demonstrated experience leading complex capital projects and multidisciplinary project teams within power generation, energy, heavy industry, mining, utilities or similar environments.
Proven people leadership capability with the ability to coach, develop and motivate others.
Strong understanding of project delivery frameworks, capital governance and portfolio management principles.
Experience managing significant project budgets, financial performance and stakeholder expectations.
Excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills.
Strong commitment to safety leadership and fostering a positive safety culture.
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline, or a trade qualification complemented by significant industry experience.
