Job Description
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented General Accountant to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a premium hospitality and equestrian destination. As the property's sole on-site finance representative, you will be responsible for managing the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL), while working closely with the Chief Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete AP, AR, and GL functions for the property.
- Process supplier invoices, payments, customer invoicing, and collections.
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and support month-end and year-end closing.
- Reconcile revenue across memberships, riding activities, events, F&B, retail, and other business units.
- Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Prepare VAT schedules and ensure compliance with UAE regulations.
- Verify invoices, expense claims, and payment documentation.
- Maintain fixed asset and inventory records.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and internal controls.
- Liaise with banks, vendors, and internal departments on financial matters.
- Work closely with the Chief Accountant to ensure timely reporting and financial accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
- Perform other accounting duties as required.
Desired Skill & Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, leisure, or multi-revenue operations.
- Proven experience managing AP, AR, and GL independently.
- Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and accounting software.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
